Some areas of my focus

In speaking with St. Albert residents, the following points have been highlighted as opportunities to strengthen our unique and beautiful city.

As your councilor, I will focus on:

 FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE DECISIONS:

  • Taxes and Utilities remain  major deterrents
  • Rising costs affect everyone but particularly young families and seniors
  • Operating within our means
  • Debt reduction prior to new projects

We can maintain quality for lesser cost with reduced costs to taxpayers

   RESIDENT SAFETY AND HIGH TRAFFIC:

  • Stronger enforcement of current bylaws and the creation of new
  • Continued improvments to school zones and high traffic areas
  • Public education and traffic awareness
  • Introduction of a dedicated animal control officer to enforce animal bylaws
  • Establish agreement with vet office to hold found cats as is current practice for dogs
  • Growing through traffic needs Ray Gibbon Drive fully developed
  • Increase traffic law enforcment by officers while decreasing the use of photo radar

We can make our city safer for all

   PRESERVING AND IMPROVING PARKS:

  • Preserving current spaces protecting them from  being rezoned and utilized by  developers.
  • Increasing  the amount of benches and disposal bins in our neighbourhoods and parks
  • Ensuring maintenance and updating of outdated, unsafe playgrounds

We can continue to improve our beautiful city and connect with others in our beautiful parks and neighbourhoods

ATTRACTING BUSINESSES AND RESIDENTS TO ST. ALBERT:

  • Attract more people to live and work and shop in St.Albert
  • Providing support to small businesses through collaboration with the chamber of commerce
  • Increasing commercial and retail businesses to improve tax base ratio
  • Increasing business lowers the tax burden for residential taxes

We can continue to foster new business ventures in our city

SOCIAL AWARENESS AND EDUCATION

  • Supporting St. Albert’s Social Master Plan
